Dru Feeley Obituary Maryland: Hagerstown man killed in Sunday morning crash on I-81 in Greencastle
A crash on the interstate in Greencastle over the weekend has claimed the life of a Hagerstown man, Pennsylvania State Police say. Dru N Feeley, 21, was pronounced deceased after a crash on I-81 near mile marker 6.9 on Sunday morning.
Pennsylvania State Police say that Feeley was the driver of a 2005 Dodge Neon that was traveling I-81 northbound around 3:30am on Sunday. Feeley’s Dodge was in the left lane “at a high rate of speed” approaching a commercial 2021 Peterbilt 579 truck.
That truck, driven by a Texas man, had to merge quickly because of another vehicle being stopped on the right shoulder of the interstate. That is when Feeley’s vehicle struck the rear end of the 18-wheeler’s trailer at his 12 o’clock position, head on.
PSP say that Feeley was ejected from the vehicle, due to the fact that he was not wearing any safety harness. He came to rest in the right lane of the interstate and was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding EMS.
Pennsylvania State Police is requesting any motorist with dash camera footage of the incident to contact PSP Chambersburg at 717-264-5161, reference CAD# PA24-1611587.
