Gregory James Wells Car Accident; Gregory James Wells dies in fatal Flathead County car crash
A tragic rollover crash in Flathead County resulted in the death of 69-year-old Gregory James Wells, who had been reported missing for 10 days. Wells was discovered by Flathead County Search and Rescue on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the accident scene along Dayton Creek Road.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the crash is believed to have occurred on December 10 around 9:30 p.m. Investigators reported that a Ford Explorer, traveling northbound on Dayton Creek Road, veered off the roadway and descended down a mountainside.
Wells, a Kila resident, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the rollover. Authorities suspect drugs and alcohol may have been factors in the crash. He was last seen on the evening of December 10 leaving the Gold Bar Casino in Kalispell around 6:30 p.m.
