Brandon Montez Mcilwain Shooting; Brandon Montez Mcilwain Passes Away In Fatal Hoover, Alabama Shooting
On Christmas Eve night, the Hoover Police Department began investigating a homicide on Rime Village Drive. Authorities responded to a 911 call around 10:59 p.m. and discovered 35-year-old Brandon Montez Mcilwain of Birmingham suffering from a gunshot wound.
A 29-year-old suspect was apprehended at the scene. Mcilwain was transported to a hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Investigators believe the incident stemmed from a physical confrontation between Mcilwain and the suspect, which escalated when the suspect discharged a firearm multiple times, striking Mcilwain at least once.
