Annie Brown Obituary Midwest City: Suspect arrested as authorities believe 3 Oklahoma homicide are connected
Authorities have identified a homicide victim in Midwest City as police investigate three Oklahoma murders that may be linked.
The Midwest City Police Department reported receiving a request from the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Office at about 12:55 a.m. Wednesday to perform a welfare check on a resident in the 1000 block of Locust Lane, near Northeast 10th Street and Midwest Boulevard. The sheriff’s office indicated that a vehicle found at the scene of a homicide in Pontotoc County was registered to a woman living at the Midwest City address.
Upon arriving at the home, officers discovered a 62-year-old woman, Annie Brown, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Investigators learned that a 42-year-old man, Richard Chambers, had been living in Brown’s backyard. Authorities also determined that Chambers had taken her vehicle hours before it was found in Pontotoc County.
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirmed that two additional people had been killed in Allen, Pontotoc County, but details about those victims have not been disclosed.
These incidents led to a manhunt for Chambers, who was identified as a person of interest and considered armed and dangerous. Law enforcement later located and apprehended him near Ada.
The Midwest City Police Department stated they believe this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact the Midwest City Police Department at 405-739-1306.
